The Stardust Orchestra organized in the summer of 2004 in San Antonio, Texas, recruiting musicians from The Sunglows and San
Antonio Marching Band. The orchestra is led by Johnny Silva, also known as Juan T. Silva, who is also the leader of The
Sunglows. The Band specializes in Swing, Adult Contemporary and Latin Big Band music. The band is available for bookings by

Johnny Silva leads the Stardust Orchestra. Johnny has
degrees from St. Mary's University (BA Mathematics and
Music) and the University of Texas at San Antonio (MA
Educational management). He has taught high school
mathematics and music since 1970. He was teaching
mathematics and computer science at Memorial High
School in Edgewood ISD. He is now an adjunct instructor
of mathematics at Northwest Vista College in San
Antonio. Johnny is first chair of the trombone section and
conductor / musical director for the San Antonio
Marching Band.
